Working Together
Once you’re in, everyone sees the same rack. These tools help you show each other what you mean.
Cursors
You see everyone’s pointer with their name on it. If someone is off-screen, their name sits at the edge of your view.
Double-click a name in the user list to jump to where that person is looking.
Follow
Right-click a name and choose Follow. Your view now moves with theirs. Pan or zoom yourself to stop.
Chat
Press Tab to open chat. Press Tab or Esc to close it. The Chat button in the bottom-left corner shows how many messages you haven’t read.
Draw
Hold Ctrl and drag with the right mouse button. On a Mac this is the Control key. Lines fade after a few seconds.
Clear Drawings in the session panel menu clears them from your screen.
Ping
Alt + right-click opens a set of emoji. On a Mac, Alt is the Option key.
- Left-click an emoji to drop it where you clicked.
- Right-click an emoji to stick it to your cursor.
- Esc closes the set.
When you can’t edit
If you see “View only — you can’t edit this patch right now”, the host has locked the session or made you a Spectator. You can still chat, draw and ping unless the host has turned those off.
If your rack looks different from the host’s
Right-click the Patch Together module and choose Refresh from Host. You get a fresh copy of the host’s patch.
